Palpable Moments

Hyejeong Kim

Hyejeong Kim’s art process involves making pottery on a traditional wheel and then deforming it with her hands, utilising various materials, such as wood, stone, and wire, to vibrantly express her memories and emotions. Through her series “Carpel”, the artist reveals her remnants of pain by marking them onto a clay body. Her art leads us to strange beauty.

The exhibition <살아 있는 순간들 – Palpable Moments> extends this exploration toward the presence of life that is here and now, overcoming the narratives of personal experience and memory. Through her new media work, the artist demonstrates what she unearths in her creative process: the background of the work and the elements of meaning contained in her art.
