2025. 08. 11 Mon | SeMoCA| Special Exhibition “Dialogue” Opening Ceremony – Buncheong Performance
[Exhibition Introduction]
Studying the shapes of objects has been both a longtime task and joy for mankind. Intertwined with everyday life, craft art, in particular, offers various aesthetic experiences at hand. When a useful object is enhanced with beauty, it creates intangible value that transcends time and space. This exhibition showcases special works that require intense artistry, such as geumbak (gold leaf), buncheong (grayish-blue-powdered celadon), and chaehwa (Korean Royal Silk Flower). Join us in the dialogues among the artists who are expanding the scope of craft art by blurring the boundaries of different artistic disciplines: Kim Giho×Chang Yeonsoon, Lee Kanghyo×Heryun Kim, Hwang Suro×GungjungChaehwa Seoul Lab.
(Buncheong Performance)
[Performance Introduction]
The highlight of the opening ceremony is the buncheong performance by Lee Kanghyo, which will be held in the Seoul Museum of Craft Art at 8:00 pm on September 7th. This performance will be conducted in the form of scattering iron oxide and engobe into a large jar with the rhythm of samulnori as the background music. We hope you can feel the improvisational and explosive energy.
