Overview

Space K Seoul is pleased to present the Kiaf VIP program in collaboration with Artculture4u. The program will feature an introduction to the exhibition by Chief Curator Jang-Uk Lee followed by a performance inspired by the exhibition, . The Mingling Night will include special catering, Fantastique Chateau Sainte Marguerite, and Royale Salute.

 

Kylie Manning : Yellow Sea

August 9 – November 10

Kylie Manning (b.1983, Alaska, USA) draws on her experiences at sea to create works that combine the figurative and the abstract. This exhibition, which features new paintings that depict the relationship between nature and humans on three canvases and a large-scale installation spanning 7m wide and 5m high, will be an exciting opportunity to immerse in the majestic seascapes alchemized by ‘Kylie Manning’.

Performance

LEE K-DANCE

Korean contemporary dance company LEE K-DANCE presents a performance inspired by Kylie Manning’s exhibition, Yellow Sea. In conversation with the large-scale paintings suspended in mid-air, LEE K-DANCE’s choreography depicts the flow of ‘the unknown, high tide, low tide, and what stays behind.’

LEE K-DANCE

Led by Artistic Director Kyung Eun Lee, LEE K-DANCE is a contemporary dance company founded in 2002. Focusing on the various movements of the body, the topic of coexistence of individuality and diversity is expressed through Korean themes. Major performances include , a co-production of Rencontres chorégraphiques internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis and Seoul International Dance Festival in 2016, and , which was invited to the MOTION/MATTER: Street Dance Festival in New York in 2024.
