Gana Art Center

Founded in 1983, Gana Art has not only conducted a wide variety of exhibitions both at home and abroad for the past 40 years, but has also regularly participated in international events, striving for the further development of art culture and the internationalization of Korean art. Gana Art Center, located in Pyeongchang-dong, is a 850-pyeong (approximately 2,800 square meters) complex cultural space designed by the renowned architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. It was selected as the Millennium Building of 2000 by Tasche, a German architectural institution, and is acclaimed for its architectural harmony of restrained aesthetics based on Korea’s cultural roots and multifunctional exhibition capabilities.

Overview

Gana Art Center, in collaboration with Kiaf SEOUL, Korea’s leading art fair, is hosting the Kiaf VIP Exhibition Tour program. Gana Art Center is currently hosting the second part of the exhibition to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Lee Ungno (Pen name: Goam, 1904-1989), the Korean contemporary art master, titled “Lee Ungno: People.” On August 30, a solo exhibition by Korean experimental art pioneer Kim KuLim, titled “Yin and Yang,” will open. The friendly and detailed exhibition descriptions provided by Gana Art’s curators will open up new perspectives for you to appreciate the artworks, and will also help you understand the artists and Korean art.
