biscuit gallery, a contemporary art commercial gallery located on Shoto Culture Street in Shibuya, Tokyo, is pleased to present the collaborative exhibition “bridge” in partnership with London-based gallery NISO. The exhibition will run from Thursday, January 30 to Sunday, February 16, 2025.
This project is a collaborative group exhibition with NISO. From biscuit gallery, Japanese artists based in Tokyo and London will be introduced, while NISO will present international artists active in London and across Europe.
Maoka Ueda
Maoka Ueda was born in 1996 in Hyogo. She studied Art & Design in London for five years in the Foundation course at Central Saint Martins and in the BA(Hons) Graphic Design Communication at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London, England.

Kenji Sakai
Born in 1996. Sakai works across various media, including oil painting, printmaking, and sculpture. His practice explores the existence and transformation of individuals and groups, delving into deeper self-awareness. Through the use of geometric expressions, he gives form to concepts such as society and emotions, reinterpreting them in unique ways. Currently, he is based in London.

Nasu held her first international solo exhibition at NISO (London) in September 2024.

C. Lucy R. Whitehead
Born in 1991 in Liverpool, UK, and currently based in London.
Earned a BA in Drawing from Camberwell College of Arts and an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, where he was awarded the Basil H. Alkazzi Scholarship.

Earned an MFA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths, University of London.
Published the photo book Unconsciously and has exhibited at galleries worldwide, including the Rencontres d’Arles, Art Basel, Somerset House, and the Saatchi Gallery. Their work explores the intersections of cognitive architecture, collective subjectivity, cybernetic feedback, and spirituality.
