Introduction
Since its establishment in central Tokyo in 1967, Whitestone Gallery has been one of the pioneering galleries in the Japanese art world, exhibiting works by Japanese and international artists. Designed and directed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, Whitestone Gallery’s locations around the world demonstrate Whitestone’s philosophy and vision for exhibiting modern and contemporary art with a keen aesthetic. To further promote dialogue between art and the region, the New Art Museum opened in Karuizawa, Japan in 2012, and has since expanded its horizons from a local and global perspective, starting with Hong Kong and operating branches in Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Beijing, and Seoul.
