2015년 서울 강남 신사동 가로수길에 개관한 2GIL29 GALLERY는 현대미술을 국내외에 적극적으로 소개하며, 한국 미술시장에서 중요한 문화적 소통의 창구로 자리매김해 왔습니다. 회화, 조각, 설치, 영상 등 다양한 시각 예술을 선보이며, 동시대 예술의 다양성과 실험성을 포용하고 있습니다.
‘지속 가능한 예술을 향한 예술가의 치열성’은 이길이구 갤러리의 전시 기준이자 철학입니다. 저희는 고독하고 어려운 환경 속에서도 묵묵히 작업을 지속해온 예술가들의 궤적에 주목하며, 그런 예술가들이 쉼 없이 작업을 이어갈 수 있도록 장기적인 관점에서 전시를 기획하고 지원합니다. 30대, 40대의 집중적인 작업기를 지나 60대, 70대에도 여전히 동시대성과 예술성을 유지하며 작업을 지속할 수 있는 작가들과의 긴 호흡을 지향합니다.
이길이구 갤러리는 장르의 경계를 허물고, 예술과 관객 간의 진정성 있는 대화를 추구하며, 국내외 예술 생태계와의 활발한 교류를 통해 세계 미술 시장 속에서도 지속적으로 입지를 넓혀가고 있습니다. 창의성과 실험 정신이 살아 있는 전시를 통해, 동시대 미술의 흐름 속에서 의미 있는 목소리를 만들어가고자 합니다.
Since opening its doors in 2015 in the heart of Garosu-gil, Gangnam, 2GIL29 GALLERY has served as a vital conduit for cultural dialogue in the Korean art scene, actively introducing contemporary art from both Korea and abroad. With a commitment to showcasing a wide range of visual practices—from painting and sculpture to installation and video—the gallery has established itself as a leading private exhibition space in Seoul.
At the core of our program lies a belief in the relentless pursuit of sustainable artistic practice. We are drawn to artists who, often in solitude and under challenging conditions, remain steadfast in their commitment to the studio. For us, artistic perseverance is not only admirable—it is essential. We support those who continue to evolve their practice through the decades, from their thirties and forties into their sixties and beyond.
