Nho Wonhee

Nho Wonhee’s (b.1948) first solo exhibition was in 1977 and she participated as a founding member of the collective Reality and Utterance in the 1980s which captured social realities and aspects of life. She recorded daily life and people in the continuum of social incidents such as ideological confrontation, urbanization, and labor in the era of neoliberalism through the painting. This invitational exhibition Nho Wonhee : You were there examines the various forms of life in our time through her paintings and words, which have continued seeking the truths of reality for 40 years. Such an initiative is not just a record of the times but provides an opportunity to comfort someone’s life and resonate with the affect of solidarity.
