Historically, art mobility followed the mainstream movement in finance, political powers and people. The main art mobility has expanded from West to Asian regions recently. Hong Kong was the international art hub, but the changeover has unexpectedly taken place due to political unstableness and the pandemic situation. The world is paying attention to Seoul, which has been underappreciated but has infinite potential. Through the talk by Andrew Russeth, with insight into hidden factors in Asian art scenes, and Joan Kee, with an accurate perspective of Asian contemporary art, we will be able to think about HOW Seoul can be the new Asian art hub rather than WHY.
