Lazy Mike

Willie Stewart, Run to the Hills, 2026, Acrylic and gouache on canvas over custom panels, 86 x 48 x 36 cm
VENUE Lazy Mike
ADDRESS 48-4, Dosan-daero 83-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
PROGRAM 9/2, open from 11:00 to 21:00, Artist Live Performance
As part of KIAF Art Weekend and Cheongdam Night, Lazy Mike is pleased to present Willie Stewart’s solo exhibition, Digital Grim Reapers Underground, opening on September 2. The opening reception will take place from 6 to 10 PM, featuring a live performance by the artist.
Working across painting, sculpture, installation, video, sound, and constructed relics, Willie Stewart creates fictional worlds in which memory, image, belief, and technology become deeply intertwined. Also known for his work as a guitarist in the band of Yoko Ono, a central figure of Fluxus, Stewart brings a distinct musical sensibility to his visual practice. Rhythm, repetition, quotation, and a layered sense of time run throughout his work.
Drawing from the remnants of popular culture, including 1980s punk and synth music, VHS tapes, album covers, and fandom, Stewart explores how images age, deteriorate, and transform over time. Digital Grim Reapers Underground imagines a future in which history no longer remains as a stable record, but survives through damaged fragments and corrupted memory archives.
Presented on the occasion of Cheongdam Night, the exhibition and live performance offer a special opportunity to experience Stewart’s visual and sonic universe within one of Seoul’s key art week events.
