From September 2nd to 6th, galleries will host special evening events in celebration of Kiaf SEOUL 2026.

On Thursday, September 3rd, Samcheong Night will take place in Samcheong-dong, Seoul.

Hakgojae Gallery is pleased to present Little things, Delightful greetings, a solo exhibition by KANG Yo-bae (b. 1952), on view from August 12 to September 12, 2026.Marking the artist’s return to Hakgojae Gallery after four years, the exhibition begins with a simple gesture of welcoming the small, often overlooked presences encountered in everyday life.

It reflects KANG’s enduring attention to the subtle pulse of nature and the breath of life. A seminal figure in Korean contemporary art, KANG is widely recognized for his engagement with modern Korean history and social realities through the 1980s Minjung Art movement. While he is often regarded as a painter of history, another defining axis of his practice lies in his profound observation of and reverence for the natural world.

In Little Things, Delightful Greetings, wild grasses and flowers, crashing waves, ever-changing skies, and the traces of passing seasons emerge as compelling presences on the canvas. By attending to nature’s subtle expressions that often escape our notice, KANG offers viewers a renewed way of seeing the world around them.

On the occasion of Frieze and Kiaf Seoul 2026, Wooson Gallery Seoul presents Samcheong Night as a special opening for Yukimasa Ida’s solo exhibition.

Spanning both Seoul and Daegu, the exhibition presents works that explore traces of memory and fleeting painterly moments central to the artist’s practice.

Constructed through dense layers of impasto and vivid colour, Ida’s figures move beyond representation, becoming images shaped and reshaped by memory.

Echoing the spirit of Ichigo Ichie (一期一会)—the awareness that each encounter is singular and unrepeatable—his paintings seek to capture ephemeral moments through material and colour.
