Belenius was founded in 2006 by Niklas Belenius and is today owned and operated by Katarina Sjögren and Niklas Belenius. Since its inception, the gallery has been based at Ulrikagatan in Stockholm, with a shorter time in premises in Kungsträdgården, Stockholm. Belenius has expanded its international program due to collaborations with artists and galleries from all over the world. The gallery features both international and Swedish artists, and is known for its intergenerational approach and the integration of contemporary art with art historical pieces. Belenius collaborations with the international, contemporary art scene, is mainly in Europe, the USA and Asia. The gallery works with artists such as Ulla Wiggen, Isabella Ducrot and Sally J. Han.
