Introduction
Established in August 1990 with the opening of Moosim Gallery in Cheongju and UM Gallery in Seoul, UM GALLERY operates two spaces, bridging regional and metropolitan art communities while contributing to the expansion of the Korean art market. The gallery is committed to broadening its global reach through active participation in international art fairs. Since its early exhibitions featuring Dansaekhwa (Korean monochrome painting) in the 1990s, UM GALLERY has evolved into a distinguished gallery showcasing works by pivotal figures in Korean art history, including first-generation conceptual artists such as Kim Ku-lim and Lee Kun-yong. The gallery remains dedicated to curating exhibitions that highlight historically significant artists while also nurturing emerging talent, embracing the evolving landscape of contemporary art. UM GALLERY strives to create a dynamic platform that fosters artistic dialogue, supports the discovery of promising new artists, and continuously engages with both domestic and international visitors.
