Black lines initiate the composition, followed by soft, hazy tones and drifting brushstrokes. The flow feels rhythmic, like the passage of time within emotion. His painting is the transformation of bodily sensation into a record of emotional time.\u201d In Traces in Between, the artist minimizes intention, allowing intuition to guide his hand. The tremor of his brush, the spreading of pigment, even unplanned ruptures are absorbed into the work as evidence of life.
