SARAHCROWN<\/p>\n

1. Is there one particular artist or artwork in your presentation at Kiaf SEOUL 2025 that you’d especially like to highlight?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019re very excited to introduce two new artists to the South Korean audience: Peter Depelchin (b. 1985, Ostend, Belgium) and Bu Shi (b. 1993, Yunnan, China). For both artists, this marks their debut exhibition in South Korea.\u00a0<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Could you briefly share the curatorial direction or philosophy that guides your gallery?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At SARAHCROWN, we represent emerging and established contemporary international artists, with a strong focus on discovering new talent, supporting site-specific projects, and fostering a critical curatorial discourse. The gallery\u2019s founder, Sarah Corona, holds a doctorate in Contemporary Asian Art from Europe, which informs our emphasis on showcasing both European and Asian artists in the U.S. and promoting them globally.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re particularly drawn to artists whose work combines three core elements: innovation, technical sophistication, and narrative depth. Our exhibitions are often concept-driven, telling compelling stories and inviting viewers to reflect on social and human questions.<\/p>\n

3. What are you hoping to gain or experience through your participation in this year\u2019s edition of Kiaf?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We love exhibiting at Kiaf. We\u2019re looking forward to reconnecting with collectors we met during past editions and meeting new ones. We\u2019re especially excited to engage with collectors not only from South Korea but also from across Southeast Asia.<\/i><\/p>\n

4. How do you view the growth and potential of the art market in Seoul?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We believe the art market in Seoul\u2014and South Korea more broadly\u2014holds tremendous potential. The practice of collecting art as a cultural and intellectual pursuit is still relatively young, and we see a genuine thirst among collectors to learn, discover, and grow. It\u2019s an exciting moment to be part of this evolution.<\/p>\n

5. What are your thoughts on Kiaf\u2019s development over the years, and what do you hope to see in its future?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This will be our third year participating in Kiaf, so while our experience is still relatively recent, we\u2019ve already seen meaningful growth. We hope to see the fair continue to expand, attracting more young and international collectors while also staying true to its roots and maintaining its distinct Asian character.\u00a0<\/p>\n
