Recent Updates and Artistic Activities<\/span><\/p>\n

Since receiving the Kiaf HIGHLIGHTS award, have you experienced any notable developments or personal changes in your work or practice?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I have had more opportunities to be approached by Korean people about exhibiting, and I have come to see it as a field in which to work. Due to my roots as a Zainichi Ch\u014dsenjin \uff08\u5728\u65e5\u671d\u9bae\u4eba\uff09of Japan, I had a somewhat third-person impression of Korea, but I think I have been creating more works that are conscious of Korea as one of my own roots.<\/span><\/p>\n

Are there any recent exhibitions, projects, or collaborations you would like to highlight?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

One recent project I would like to highlight is my upcoming participation in ‘Study \u00d7 PLAS : Asia Art Fair 2025’, where I will be exhibiting with Gallery Q during the Osaka EXPO 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

International Activities and Plans<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you have any upcoming international exhibitions, fairs, or projects planned?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I am scheduled to participate in the ‘Study \u00d7 PLAS : Asia Art Fair 2025’ at the Gallery Q booth during the Osaka EXPO 2025, taking place from July 20 to 23, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, I will be taking part in a special exhibition commemorating the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan, which highlights the work of Korean and Japanese women artists.<\/span><\/p>\n

Future Goals and Directions<\/span><\/p>\n

Are there any goals or projects you are currently preparing for or aspiring to in your artistic practice?<\/em><\/p>\n

I am currently preparing for a solo exhibition at Gallery Q in Tokyo, which will be held from July 21 to August 2, 2025.

In addition, I will be participating in a group exhibition titled \u201cConnecting the Atomic Bomb and Art to the Next Generation\u201d<\/em> at the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum in Kawasaki City, running from July 19 to October 19, 2025.<\/p>\n

Impact and Feedback from the Kiaf HIGHLIGHTS Award<\/span><\/p>\n

Has the Kiaf HIGHLIGHTS award brought any positive changes or benefits to your practice?<\/em><\/p>\n

Since receiving the Kiaf HIGHLIGHTS award, I am receiving inquires to participate in exhibitions with a wider audience.<\/p>\n
