Such fissures thereby constitute this abstract series from the artist, whose works are layered with soap and spans of temporality to variably create fragments of time. Rather than attempting to control chance, the artist adopts a readily accepting stance towards it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Shin\u2019s <em>Megalithes <\/em>series also features works where fragments of clay are hardened like stone in a kiln and reformed into ceramics. Rather than representing willful intervention, these works evoke ancient civilizations as in megalithic culture or seem to symbolize primordial afterimages. Although vanished, they cannot be said to have disappeared, nor can they be said to simply exist.
