The Pompidou Centre’s with a global project celebrates the centenary<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pompidou Centre and the Cruz-Diez Foundation will commemorate the centenary of Carlos Cruz-Diez’s birth starting in 2023.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

They have been promoting various events and exhibitions to shed new light on the artist’s life and artistic achievements. This project at the Pompidou Centre had it\u2019s origins in an exhibition project of the same name conceived by Carlos Cruz-Diez in 2014. The project conceived by the artist at the time included eight studies on color (color addition) that the artist had made throughout his life.<\/p>\n

The public will have the opportunity to appreciate the installation works, which feature special lighting in red, green, and blue. \u25b2< Ambience of Chromosaturation> and projection of modules of chromatic event on people and objects. \u25b2< Ambience of Chromointerference> The two-dimensional works of the series including \u25b2 \u25b2, \u25b2, printed with colored ink can be touched and manipulated directly by visitors.<\/p>\n

The exhibition also features the interactive software \u25b2, which allows visitors to create their own piece within the research of Carlos Cruz-Diez.<\/p>\n

Cruz-Diez crosses the boundaries of Op Art and Kinetic Art, offering viewers a colorful visual experience created by color and light. In particular, he explores the principles of color science by focusing on the relationship between the RGB color model, the three primary colors of light, and the CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) color model of subtractive mixing. Through this, he creates colors and patterns that do not actually exist in his works, blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy.<\/p>\n

Cruz-Diez’s work is based on the theory of color and light, but his art is more than just a scientific experiment; it offers the audience a true artistic experience. The exhibition “Cruz Diez – RGB, Colors of the Century” provides visitors with the opportunity to engage with the principles of color science in a comprehensive and immersive manner. The results presented in various forms, including spatial installations, flat surfaces, videos, and software programs, follow the artist’s path of scientific analysis and research on the process of perceiving light and color. This exhibition provides a unique artistic experience that challenges visitors to think differently about vision by exploring color from different perspectives.<\/p>\n

To assist with comprehension of the exhibition, which melds science and art, the Arts Center offers a variety of explanatory materials.
\nThe exhibition has been designed with careful consideration of the age and interests of the audience, allowing for a deeper and richer appreciation of the work on display.<\/p>\n

The Seoul Arts Center has developed a new educational program in collaboration with ‘Dosn’, which emphasizes the individual exhibition experience. The program, which carries the slogan \u201cOne exhibition, N perspectives,\u201d experts from various fields, such as science and engineering YouTubers, former art announcers, color experts, science engineers, educational influencers, and media artists will directly conduct teachers. Audience members can choose a topic and take the program in addition to participating in related workshops with teachers for each genre. If they participate in multiple programs according to their interests, audience members will be able to view the world from various perspectives, just as they interpret one exhibition in various ways.
