[KOO HOUSE Museum]<\/span><\/p>\n

KOO HOUSE Museum is a private museum exhibiting a personal collection of contemporary art & design works. Founded on the concept ‘Living with Art’, the museum breaks with the ‘white cube’ standard and expresses an entirely new approach to art museums.<\/p>\n

Galleries are reinterpreted into rooms in a house and are curated through a personal view of how paintings, sculptures, photography & furniture can come together to present a wholly intimate perspective into the works of world’s preeminent artist’s and designer’s work.<\/p>\n

[Architecture]<\/span><\/p>\n

The unique concept of KOO HOUSE -a \u2018Living with art\u2019- meets Cho Minsuk(AIA) of Mass studies and completed as a space \u2018One-but Many\u2019.<\/p>\n

This \u2018house-museum,\u2019 neither \u2018private nor public,\u2019 is located between \u2018city and nature,\u2019 on the fringe of Yangpyeong. First, imposed is a straight line along the length of the entire site, with a stream to the front, flowing parallel to a ouble height central hallway. Between the stream and the hallway is a sizable yard. These \u2018indoor and outdoor\u2019 spatial elements act as the basic framework. With the 50m hallway and the bordering yard as the base line, what starts out as a gridded plan begins to free itself from this order as a series of obscurities are imposed on the Cartesian logic.<\/p>\n
