During Kiaf and Frieze Seoul 2026, PNC Gallery will present a nocturne-style evening program for Samcheong Night at its newly relocated space in Palpan-dong, featuring a solo exhibition by Kwak Hoon.
The exhibition focuses on the key motifs and visual language that run through Kwak Hoon’s painterly practice, shedding light on the artist’s long-standing exploration of memory, ritual, and civilizational imagination. Through archetypal images such as tea bowls, water, pyramids, and ritual objects, Kwak has continued to bring invisible memories and spiritual energies into the realm of painting.
On the evening of Samcheong Night, P&C Gallery invites visitors to experience Kwak Hoon’s artistic world in a deeper and more contemplative atmosphere.

Hakgojae Gallery is pleased to present Little things, Delightful greetings, a solo exhibition by KANG Yo-bae (b. 1952), on view from August 12 to September 12, 2026.Marking the artist’s return to Hakgojae Gallery after four years, the exhibition begins with a simple gesture of welcoming the small, often overlooked presences encountered in everyday life.
It reflects KANG’s enduring attention to the subtle pulse of nature and the breath of life. A seminal figure in Korean contemporary art, KANG is widely recognized for his engagement with modern Korean history and social realities through the 1980s Minjung Art movement. While he is often regarded as a painter of history, another defining axis of his practice lies in his profound observation of and reverence for the natural world.
In Little Things, Delightful Greetings, wild grasses and flowers, crashing waves, ever-changing skies, and the traces of passing seasons emerge as compelling presences on the canvas. By attending to nature’s subtle expressions that often escape our notice, KANG offers viewers a renewed way of seeing the world around them.

ADDRESS
Samcheong-ro 50, Jongno-gu, Seoul
PROGRAM
Extended hours on 9/3 until 22:30.
Hakgojae Gallery presents SOSOSOLO EXHIBITION, a three-person exhibition featuring GOODMORNINGTOWN (b. 1995), SOON.EASY (b. 1990), and JOOJAEBEOM (b. 1983), on view from August 20 to September 12, 2026.
Conceived as a group exhibition that simultaneously functions as three independent solo exhibitions, the presentation resists subsuming the artists’ practices under a single curatorial narrative. Instead, it adopts a parallel structure in which each artist’s distinct visual language and conceptual world is allowed to exist autonomously. Rather than dissolving individual differences, the exhibition foregrounds the points at which divergent perceptual and conceptual frameworks intersect. It focuses on the relationships and productive tensions that emerge when the works occupy the same space, opening up new layers of meaning through their coexistence. As visitors move between the three independent artistic worlds, they are invited to engage with multiple possibilities of interpretation rather than a singular, unified reading.

Spanning both Seoul and Daegu, the exhibition presents works that explore traces of memory and fleeting painterly moments central to the artist’s practice.
Constructed through dense layers of impasto and vivid colour, Ida’s figures move beyond representation, becoming images shaped and reshaped by memory.
Echoing the spirit of Ichigo Ichie (一期一会)—the awareness that each encounter is singular and unrepeatable—his paintings seek to capture ephemeral moments through material and colour.
Join us for an evening of drinks at Wooson Gallery Seoul and experience the material depth and chromatic intensity that define Yukimasa Ida’s practice.
