Inspired by Luis Buñuel’s 1977 film of the same name, this series explores desire in today’s consumer society.

Starting from photography, Devaux transforms supermarket products into abstract, glowing forms that seem both familiar and sacred.

For him, desire is not about romance—it’s about the endless urge to consume and possess. Through digital manipulation and subtle distortion, ordinary objects become symbols of human longing and anxiety.

Protrait of Thomas DEVAUX 

Born in 1980 and based in Paris, Devaux is considered one of the key figures in contemporary French photography. His works are held by major institutions such as the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Louis Vuitton Group, and the Musée des Beaux-Arts d’Orléans.
