ATELIER AKI

Kwon Neung, Pygmalion, 2022, Oil on canvas, 86x131cm

Founded in 2010, ATELIER AKI has steadily established as one of the most active contemporary art galleries in Seoul, Korea. ATELIER AKI has been constantly showcasing the next generation of contemporary Korean artists domestically as well as internationally. Throughout the various art projects and international art fairs, the gallery continues to play a key role to inform the innovative works to the current global art world.

ATELIER AKI holds the exhibition from August 31st to October 1st. This exhibition is designed to shed light on the wide world of works by two contemporary artists, Kwon Neung, and Kwon Dae hoon, who practice constant creative activities for their artistic survival and continue their lives as a “nomad.” (Opening Hours/ 10:00~19:00)

The 1990-born young artist Kwon Neung, works mainly in Shenzhen, China, shows his potential as a blue chip artist by selling all of his works in his first solo exhibition in Beijing and ART021 Shanghai, one of the most prestigious art fairs in Asia, while also receiving waiting from renowned collectors such as Shenyang Museum and ART021 Founder. Kwon Dae hoon, the first Korean to win the “The Jack Goldhill Award” by the Royal Academy of Arts (RA), develops his own style of work through experimental and creative artistic activities across genres. The exhibition, which showcases 15 paintings and sculptures by two artists who have been experimenting across a wide range of materials and media, is especially meaningful as it is the first exhibition in Korea to shed light on the works of Kwon Neung.

From September 2 to 6, 2022 (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Atelier Aki will provide a special docent program for all Kiaf VIPs. Your presence will be much appreciated. Thank you for your interest in ATELIER AKI!
